NEW for 2017
ORNAMENTAL GRASSES
and
SEDGES
Prized for providing year-round interest, grasses are full and lush during the warm months, put on great displays of fall color and are unmatched for winter texture and interest in the landscape.  Once established, most are low-maintenance, drougt tolerant and resistant to disease.  They are also aesthetically versatile and can be used in gardening styles ranging from cottage to contemporary.

Our ornamental grass and sedge offerings are:

BananaBoat.jpg

'BANANA BOAT':  This showy broad-leaved deciduous sedge lights up the shade garden with its wide bright lemon to banana-yellow and green striped leaves.  This 6-12" sedge creeps slowly to form a dense mass of bold foliage.  Zone 5.  $14.95

ORNAMENTAL_GRASSES/BlueDune.jpg

BLUE DUNE:  Creeping stems produce steel blue foliage in most any soil.  Salt tolerant so it will grow next to the ocean or the New England roadside.  Will grow to 4' if grown in rich soil.  Zone 4.  $14.95

Elijah Blue.jpg

ELIJAH BLUE:  Soft powdery blue, spiky foliage forms a rounded clump 8-10" tall and keeps its color all year.  One of the most durable and long-lived varieties.  Zone 4.  $12.95

IndianWarrior.jpg

INDIAN WARRIOR:  This long-lived grass forms a tall 5-6' strictly upright clump of green foliage that transitions to red then smoky purple beginning midsummer.  Deep purple flowers with bright red-orange pollen.  Zone 3.  $14.95

PrairieBlues.jpg

PRAIRIE BLUES:  A beautiful 3-4' cultivar that takes on scarlet-red tones in late summer, turning deeper red-purple in fall.  Maintains its strictly upright habit through fall without flopping.  Zone 3.  $12.95

RedOctober.jpg

RED OCTOBER:  If red is your color, than this is the grass to plant.  Emerges with green leaves tipped in red.  Slowly during the season, all leaves turn red and finally scarlet after the first frost.  This 5-6' tall grass is hardy to Zone 3.  $15.75

TwilightZone.jpg

TWILIGHT ZONE:  A standout cultivar that possesses a nearly iridescent silvery mauve purple cast all over beginnin in midsummer.  Retains this color through fall when brighter purple highlights develop.  Forms a 4-4.5' strictly upright narrow columnar clump.  Zone 3.  $13.95

Some of the above grasses may not be ready for sale until the early to mid-June time frame
